United Methodist Men
The UMM meet on the first Sunday of each month (8:00 am, Fellowship Hall) for a breakfast meeting
and devotional time. The UMM sponsor and host the annual Barbecue Dinner in the Fall, along with
other work projects through the year. The men of this group generously support mission work and

United Methodist Women
The United Methodist Women (UMW) have three groups meeting on the first Thursday of the month in
the evenings at the homes of the members. There are 5 months in which they meet jointly at the church
for various special programs. There is also a UMW group which meets monthly during the daytime. This
group is for those ladies who are unable to attend evening meetings. The UMW program book is used
for all monthly meetings. The entire UMW Unit is geared toward mission-related activities and earns
large sums of money, all of which is cleared from their treasury at the end of the year and given to
mission projects world-wide, nationally, and locally. None of their monies are kept for their own benefit.
All is given for missions. There are 60 women who are members of the Salem UMW unit. As an outreach,
the ladies keep in touch with shut-ins, military persons and sick members by mailing notes to them

Upper Room Prayer Group
This group receives prayer requests from the Upper Room Prayer Ministry based out of Nashville, TN
in addition to local requests. This list is distributed to the members of the group during the week. Although
this group does not meet weekly, the members are arduous prayer warriors. You are welcome to add a prayer request to this list and also to join
them in prayer!
Intercessory Prayer Group
These strong believers meet weekly to praise God and lift up special burdens to the Lord. They believe that God hears and answers prayer,
especially in the healing power of Jesus Christ in all situations, physical and spiritual (James 5: 13-16). You can pray with the Intercessory Prayer
Group on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm.
Wednesday Night Fellowship
We gather for a delicious meal ($ 3 for adults, free to youth and children!) and Bible study every Wednesday between Labor Day and Easter. Two
Bible study options are available to adults. This weekly time of fellowship and Christian education is life-giving and quite enjoyable!
Word Listeners Bible Study Group
A small group of people meet on Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm. This study emphasizes daily reading of the Scripture in preparation for Sunday’s
group. A priority is placed on listening to what the Word is saying to our personal lives.
Deeper Water Bible Study Group
These believers see the importance of digging a little deeper in the Word to receive more meaning and understanding for every day life. They meet
on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 am for their study and prayer time.
Christ Bread
This group for senior citizens meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 11:00 am for a covered dish lunch meal, a special interest program,
and a devotional time. Good food, fellowship, helpful information, and a taste of the Word combine for a wonderful outing for these seniors!
